Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15

If you know Bangkok well, you’d know never to step into a cab during peak traffic hour. I usually opt for the BTS or walk as far as I can.

So one of the hotels of choice for our family that couldn’t be in a better location on Sukhumvit Road is the Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15. It’s huge attraction is that it’s within easy walking distance of the skytrain at Asoke station (just head for the Exchange Tower)  and is perfect for getting around Bangkok as it also links to the MRT underground system.

The popular QSNCC convention centre, which hosts important industry events and shows year-round, is just a few stops away. BITEC is also easily accessible from Asoke station.

The service at The Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15 is awesome, and it’s the little things that they do, that make you feel welcome.

You can see the delight on my 2 year olds face when she saw the cupcakes she couldn’t eat (kidding:P)

A nice hand written welcome note, makes all the difference…

Step out of the hotel turn left, and within 15 minutes or so, you’re in one of Bangkok’s most popular shopping venues – Terminal 21. The shopping mall has a myriad of shops, restaurants, stalls and boutiques.

The Grand Palace and the historic heartland of Bangkok, the Chao Phraya river, the famous Chatuchak JJ Market are all easily accessible from the Four Points Sheraton hotel.

The hotel’s The Eatery, the hotel’s All-Day-Dining restaurant, serves great coffee and breakfast. Both a la carte and buffet options are available and Breakfast is buffet style with lots of stations offering eggs-as-you-like them, noodle stalls and Asian specialities. The variety and choices are impressive. Full International , Continental or Asian breakfasts are all available.

A fabulous selection of dishes from different stations – Sushi, Satay and Thai food to pick from..

With the rooms we were off to a rocky start with a toilet that wouldn’t drain but we were soon changed to a better room in the Garden wing. Luca got cupcakes so she was happy. The hotel has its own unique entertainment options so you don’t even have to watch TV if you don’t want to.. there’s just too many movies to choose from without even reaching the TV channels!

A great place for dinner and pub grub though, is the ‘The Drunken Leprechaun’. This pub is distinctly Irish so don’t forget to check out the Irish beers. It even has its resident ‘Leprechaun’ whom Luca had endless fun dancing with;P Happy hour is a long 4 hours 4pm-8pm nightly so there was no real reason to hurry.

Fish and chips are a must… crazy crispy beer batter & Irish pea sauce.. dayum!

lamb chops – average but acceptable in taste. We also had some PIES and those were just OK .

There is a great choice of imported beers as well as local favourites. The pub food here is great whilst you kick back to the live football telecast on the screens or just chill out and listed to the Irish folk band.

The outdoor pool on the roof top is a signature of the hotel and you can’t miss the arty red arch. Apparently folks can party here and bring cocktails into the pool, which made me apprehensive about letting Luca swim here. amBar served the cocktails  as well as tasty bar meals, and the hotel also hosts a special monthly pool party here, for residents and non-residents, with live entertainment. So yeah, preferably go swimming BEFORE the party, if you get want I’m saying;)
