This is our latest go to place for great Ramen!
Ken Shin-Ryu Ramen joint at 1 Mont Kiara Shopping Center, serves the best Tonkotsu broth Ramen I have had in ages. The creamy, murky white broth says it all.
Its signature signature ramen dishes can be attributed to Sapporo-born chef Kita Koichi, who trained under the late Kawana-san, who ran Kiori-tei, a well known restaurant that served ramen in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Over here at Ken Shin-Ryu Ramen, the chef and kitchen only use the best Sakura organic pork and Ajitama eggs – the quality is evident in the melt in your mouth meat and fragrant eggs they use.
Sous vide chicken breast is another wonderful accompaniment to the ramen dishes. Flat & almost paper white, don’t let it fool you – the succulence is prevalent in each bite you take.
For something different, try the Buta Maze. Dry ramen served with diced pork, poached ajitama eggs, chopped scallions and a squeeze of lemon, this dish is the bomb. Mix it up evenly for explosive mouthfuls of unctuous yum. Think Japanese version of “Konlow Wantan Mee” and you won’t be far off the mark. It has got a nice spicy bite to it – possibly from the pepper.
If you love dip and slurp then try the Tsukemen – ramen noodles which are eaten after being dipped in a separate bowl of soup. The soup is briny so best just take a very cautious dip adding a light coat to your slurry of noodles.
A bowl of ramen with the specials, will ring in close to RM40 but it’s really worth it – if you are a fan of al-dente noodles, melt in your mouth chashu, meaty, slippery wontan dumplings and succulent bamboo shoots, look no further than Ken Shin-Ryu Ramen.
All in all a lovely experience. We highly recommend this place for comfort food in a bowl – best ramen in town!
