And so when an old friend of ours in the hospitality line told us that Shama Lakeview Asoke Bangkok, the latest in a string of properties managed by ONYX Hospitality Group was keen to host us in its prime, prestigious neighbourhood, we jumped at the chance.
If this place looks or sounds familiar to those who know, it’s because, Shama was formerly known as Somerset Lake Point Bangkok operated by Ascott. Set in the heart of the Central Business District, the highly functional Shama Lakeview Asoke is a 10-minute walk to Asoke BTS Station and Sukhumvit MRT Station. Think easy access to Terminal 21 Shopping Mall, the trendy EM District and street food of course.

The service as impeccable to say the least. When they found out we had a 2 year old in tow, they prepared diapers, and baby toiletries for our little one.
I think our little one had more fun unboxing the pressies than actually using them 😛

The food served at The Coffee Club is great too. Surprisingly authentic – I dug into the Pad Thai and black coffee and was in heaven! It’s a weird combo for breakfast I know, but when in Thai’s… you know 🙂
Definitely a great service apartment styled stay with loads of space for kids to move around. If you plan to cook, and stay for more than a week, the amenities are the bomb. Definitely less claustrophobic than hotels. This place comes as a top notch stay and highly rated on CCFoodTravel. Do check it out if ever you’re in Bangkok.
