With the economy being what it is, and the cost of food escalating at a ridiculous rate, let me just say that it’s a real pleasure when you stumble upon a hidden gem of a place, that serves great hawker food, at reasonable prices.
It kind of restores my faith in the food industry. Well, somewhat.
The curry is thick and flavourful – not the cheap watered down sort..
Anyway, this place is just a road side stall in Sea Park and it serves a really decent Curry Mee at only RM4.50! It comes with chicken, fish cake slices, long beans, taugeh, tofu puffs, cockles (see-hum), etc and every mouthful is worth sweating over. This husband and wife team used to run their own curry noodles stall at SS3 corner coffee shop where the famous pork noodle stall (most PJ folk will know this place) used to be. The name, Sua Sae Song, is actually the cook’s wife’s name, who happens to be of Thai descent.
Also, of sizable portions are the Yong Tau Foo, priced at RM1.20 per piece. The deep-fried tofu and the brinjal’s the bomb.
Have this with your RM0.80 (per roll) chee cheong fun, and tell me you’re not grinning from ear to ear, rubbing your belly in satisfaction.
UPDATE: Unfortunately this lil shop is now no longer in operation 🙁

My husband and I love a good curry mee (and our fav so far is the one in Imbi served with yong tau foo too….and I’ve not found one that could beat it till today). When you say deep-fried tofu is the bomb, it reminds me of the deep-fried tofu in Pudu that has a bit of salted fish taste in the mix! 😉
Yes go try! 🙂
Looks really good. Open only in the evenings? Is it on the street with the Sunday market?
Mornings till 2pm. Then evenings again. Closed Sundays.
I like drench my YTF into curry broth too, let them absorb the flavors…yum~
yah best ever!!
