Champagne corks are always popping somewhere in the world of course, and the high life never disappears entirely, especially on Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. And now that once expensive tipple nick-named the “bubbly” , has become accessible to so many more, in the form of champagne brunches that are far more than just a boozy meal.
MUMM’s the word!
It is an institution, an event that can start in midmorning and continue until late afternoon, a ritual in which eggs Benedict, fresh seafood, and bloody as hell roast beef, are routinely washed down by a seemingly endless stream of clear, yellow, bubbly liquid. Trying to suppress the giggles is just futile. Go with the flow, and you will truly have a good time.

No, boozy brunches are not new, and here at Prego, The Westin KL, your cup and your plate, truly runneth over. Which begs the question, are you bubbalicious enough to handle this brunch?
Themed aptly as bubbalicious, this brunch draws many from from far and near Kuala Lumpur. Some of our celebrity friends from across the straits even made it to Prego at the Westin KL, and there’s little wonder at the fame of this brunch. Priced at only RM268++ per person, you get to indulge in some of the finest cooking styles in KL, right now, courtesy of Chef Garth Welsh who is the Director of Kitchens at the Westin KL.

the theme – bubbalicious..
Bubbalicious is a Westin inspired branded brunch concept featured in over 5 different Westins throughout Asia Pacific. Served from 11.30am to 3pm, it’s hard not to be immediately set in the mood by the Bubbalicious’ bubble girls in the lobby.

Yes indeed, Prego’s Sunday Bubbly Brunch is all about the luxury of dining and just check out the premium oysters from Donegal, Ireland. There’s also heaps of pizzas to choose from – wood-fired oven signature pizzas are served by the waiters who wonder around with platters of food. Is there any wonder your plate will never be empty? Speaking of never empty, the jumbo sized G.H. Mumm champagne bottle really stole the show. First time I’ve ever drunk from such a large bottle. Just saying.
Take your pick from a myriad of refreshing salads, delectable cold cuts, freshly shucked oysters and a whole range of feel-good soups. There’s a selection of Antipasto ‘Bubbles’ and then in classic Prego Brunch tradition, the chefs deliver an array of culinary delights such as freshly made pizzas, pastas and barbequed items.

You will notice also the Cefs and service attendants come around to your table with trays of BBQ meat sausages, lamb, beef, fish on skewers and even some rather interesting looking “tentacles” that left a lasting impression! Pastas, gnocchi, risotto, all manner of poached, baked and whisked eggs, are amongst other hearty selections to excited the tastebuds. Magic and magicians roamed freely at the bubbly brunch, and I’m not sure if it was our intoxicated heads or their rather slick routine, but they were pretty impressive.
pick a number, any number.. and I’ll tell you what it is!
no, I did not write testicles.. look again 😛
