D’Italian Kitchen @ Jaya 33, PJ

The BLUE LANDMARK that was Jaya Supermarket (Sec 14) will soon be no more .

I love this place! I use to run around Cold Storage when i was just a kid… It’s too bad that this somewhat retro looking building will no longer be standing in a short while.

Really too bad.

Its demolition is scheduled for sometime after CNY (which is like anytime NOW) and in its place will be a new shopping mall with basement parking.
So far all the old tenants have relocated to Jaya 33, Jaya 1, Amcorp Mall or Atria…
8 months ago, Jaya 33 was pretty dead….
Yesterday, we decided to go there for lunch…
Look at it! Jaya 33 is totally bustling with new places to eat!
We even walked straight, smack into an auspicious LION DANCE outside Oriental.

We were spoilt for choice!

In the end, we decided on Italian… at D’Italian Kitchen.

Looking at the specials Menu, which consisted of 5-6 items, we decided to try all of the above.

THE SOUP…

THE PASTA….

MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB….

THE PIZZA !

Man.. we are bursting at the seams… while waiting for the dessert menu, my friend whips out his NEW iPhone…

Wow.. it’s totally gorgeous!

And it’s pretty affordable too! If you buy in in the States, it is USD399. And then to unlock it in Malaysia it costs RM500-600. i.e. all in all, approx. RM2K only !

The good: The Apple iPhone has a stunning display, a sleek design, and an innovative multi-touch user interface. Its Safari browser makes for a superb Web surfing experience, and it offers easy-to-use apps. As an iPod, it shines.

The bad: The Apple iPhone has variable call quality and lacks some basic features found in many cell phones, including stereo Blue tooth support and 3G compatibility. Integrated memory is stingy for an iPod, and you have to sync the iPhone to manage music content.

The bottom line: Despite some important missing features, a slow data network, and call quality that doesn’t always deliver, the Apple iPhone sets a new benchmark for an integrated cell phone and MP3 player….

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY (ladies) … IT LOOKS SEXY!! AND SLEEK AND SLIM!

See ??! (business card for perspective).. You’ve got to love it .. 🙂

Ok, back to the food….

Ah.. yes.. dessert !

And For dessert… we went with the Chef’s recommendation …. Chocolate, chocolate and MORE Chocolate…

Carbo Rush followed by Sugar Rush… followed by running around like a headless chicken… followed by sugar crash… followed by BLACK-OUT..

ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 😛

Food: 6/10 (Dessert was pretty good but the pizza was a lil dry(not enough tomato base))

Price : average

MSG levels : nil

Service:7/10
