FLINT.
Brought to you by the good folk behind STOKED, and the Vintry family of restaurants.

Similar to Stoked, yet different. When you see the place you will understand why I say, hunting-lodge comes to mind.

It’s warm and rustic and has a rather masculine feel to it.. definitely a place you would want to tuck into some brawny steaks at.

We start off with some delicious starters of Beef Tartine & Prawn Tartine.

Soon we are feeling a little heady with some delectable wines paired with White Wine Clams & Baked oysters..
Wines we had over dinner included St Clair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand) 2015; Alois Lageder Gewurztraminer (Alto Adige, Italy) 2014; Ornellaia Le Volte (Bolgheri, Italy) 2013 and the Catena Zapata Cabernet Sauvignon (Mendoza, Argentina) 2013
Then it was full steam ahead into the main courses..

Tagtiatelle Pasta with Spiced Ragu & Mushroom Risotto – rich and sublime

Chicken stew & Lamb stew – hearty and well seasoned..
And then there were the second wave of mains…

Catch of the day – Trevally from South China Sea

Grilled Australian Lamb Loin – fabulously charred but medium rare on the inside

Australian Grain-fed Angus Rib Eye 350g – just look at that red! The perfect medium rare..
With a Bertha cast-iron oven & a Drumbecue oil-drum barbecue smoker, in the kitchen, it’s no wonder the meats turn out as fabulously BBQ-ed as they are.

Oven-smoked roasted Wagyu beef brisket- succulent and fork tender

Australian Black Angus OP Ribs (1.3kg) – another great specimen of a perfect hunk of meat..

Spiced Charred Cauliflower

Hand-cut Sweet Potato – this is a must order! Consider them a healthier version of the french fry;)

Flavoured peppers – take your pick and add your own seasoning to the steaks

We end dinner with some adequately decadent desserts of Earl Grey Bavarois ; Rocky Road Orange Brownie and Deconstructed Apple Crumble. What a memorable dinner – you can’t really go wrong dining at Flint!
