Saying that the year sure has flown by, is a huge understatement!
We just got an invitation to check out the Berbuka Puasa spread at Dorsett Grand Subang this week and my initial reaction to the phone call was, “Really? already..? ”
Wow, 6 months has gone and we are hurtling towards the 3rd quarter of 2013 at an alarming speed. Can someone please pull the brakes!
This year, Dorsett Grand Subang will be featuring their buka puasa spread at the Warisan Desa @ Terazza Brasserie and Anjung Selera @ Melati over the holy month of Ramadan. Over 80 varieties of local as well as international dishes, will be served and we heard that the menu rotates everyday.
To those who are big fans of the Gearbox Soup, the good news is that, it is gooood! At Terazza Brassiere, located at the ground floor of the hotel, you can choose from a range of appetizers such as Kerabu Mangga, Kerabu Daging Ala Thai, Jeruk Betik, Jeruk Mangga, along with ulam-ulaman desa and a sambal belacan dip that should satisfy folks who like things spicy.
For the mains, my advice is, head for the Nasi Briyani Gam, the Fried Mee Hoon Siam, Rendang Ayam Kampung, Rusuk Kambing Vindalo, Roasted Beef with Mushroom Sauce and the Chili Crab. Apart from that, there will also be ten live stalls with different cuisines and styles – amongst them are the Noodle Stall, Japanese Stall, Pasta, Chicken Rice, Roasted Lamb with Lebanese Rice, Penang Char Kway Teow, Roti John and Dessert Special.
For dessert lovers, there will be different types of sweets such as the Bread Puding, Badak Berendam, Onde-onde, Bubur Pulut Hitam, Penget Keledek and Fruit Jellies. Dorsett’s buffet is priced at RM100++ per person, senior citizen and children ages 6 to 12 years get to enjoy 50% discount. If you book early, the hotel is actually selling 25% discount vouchers for early birds, so yes, it really makes sense to take advantage of that promo.
At Anjung Selera @ Melati, alongside the buffet, Chef Jaafar Onn, can be seen in action, cooking traditional “balik kampong” favourites at his action station. Together with songstress Haiza, they will serenade diners with classic Malay hits too, and also the chance to win prizes at the lucky draw, so that there, is some creativity and entertainment for you!
