When Rendez-Vous KL closed down we were sad that one of our favourite restaurants had decided to move on to greener pastures.
When the news arrived through the French grapevine, that Chez Gaston, by Rendez-vous has sprung up in Bangsar once more, we were well chuffed. Chef Florian Nigen helms the kitchen of course. This latest French Bistro offers a delightful French menu… complete with beverages, spirits, alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, and also has an extensive wine list starting from RM21+ per glass.
Delicious Baked mussels, Unctuous Wild boar pate & Foie gras terrine .. washed down with a hearty Onion Soup
So where does one start? I say, settle down with a glass of French wine, then start to work your way through the rich yet invigorating cold cut platters, steamy robust french dishes, Chef Flo’s specials if you still have space, or simply order an à la carte dish or two.
Child friendly! Note Luca’s seafood pasta.. Onion soup and Saffron Seabass was perfectly seasoned and low on salt.
Sublime Mains of Lapin Moutarde, Beef Bourguignon.. served with sides of Salsify and Roasted potatoes. Loved the super tender beef, and the Rabbit Cooked with Dijon Mustard was heaven on earth!

Chef Flo’s French flair in the kitchen is unmistakable. All his dishes have an exquisite flavour and his signature style printed on them. Trying is believing so make sure you pay this quaint hidden restaurant which is off the beaten path a visit real soon!
