Many ladies took the opportunity to dress up in that 20’s glamour- think A-line dresses with tassles, straight-line chemise topped by the close-fitting cloche hat, scalloped hemlines, sequined jewelled feather headbands and pearls accessories and you would not be far off the mark. Accompanied by the sassy drone of jazz music from the roaring 20s era, there was great anticipation in the air that night, as the who’s who in the performing arts gathered to welcome the prestigious awards. The Cammies, organised by online arts magazine Kakiseni, had returned after a one-year hiatus to honour and reminisce the best dance, music, musical theatre and theatre performances for 2011.
