This place looks like a dream!
Another place I always wanted to check out for lunch, and today, we finally got to meander along the The Waterfront, at Desa Park City KL.
Desa Park City is a swanky, upmarket, gated, residential area that just screams, … yuppie.
Everything from the landscaped gardens, to the uber cool shopping and eating area at the Waterfront makes you just want to loiter and waste time chatting over lunch /a hot mug of coffee/ a freezing pint of beer.
The only setback to this place really taking off, I foresee, might just be its location.
For anyone coming from the PJ side of town, the hefty RM1.60 toll/per way makes you think twice about venturing here for food.
On the other hand, the people of Kepong who are on the “correct” side of town, are so use to having cheap and good food so readily available that perhaps the ‘poshness’ of Desa park city does not pose enough of an attraction for them to eat here on a regular basis.
Well, how successful the waterfront turns out to be, still remains to be seen, but at the moment, things are still relatively quiet.
Fitou’s promotion of Paella , a massive pan for 4 persons priced at RM70 is pretty reasonable. But looking around.. where was the crowd to share it…
A breathtaking view.. under the hot noonday sun, the heat is unbearable but I can imagine how gorgeously vast and serene this place might look by candlelight! (I plan to come back for dinner and drinks real soon;))
This was pretty average. The tuna was a little gritty in texture but the overall taste was not bad. I like my egg with a slightly moist yellow centre(not well done) but this one was hard.
The mushroom Cappuccino – RM 12.00 and the Seafood Chowder – RM17.00
The soups were good. Value for money as you can see by the size of the mussels.
Iberico Aglio Olio – RM38.00
The promotion for the week was IBERICO. i.e. the pig!… and we just had to try it.
Hmmm, the pasta was pretty healthy. Not much salt was used(which is a good thing) making this dish light and almost weak (?) in taste . Not enough Porky oomph.. 🙁
Iberico Ribs – RM41.00
We ended up eating the RIBS with the pasta.. this was much better! The sauce from the ribs was sweet, strong and meaty. I liked the slightly caramelized texture of the ribs. However, RM41.00 for a few small slices of rib was really rather steep!
All in all, even though Fitou is not quite there yet in terms of food.. it has all the potential of becoming a really cool hangout place, and a good restaurant for your Mediterranean ‘fix’. If nothing else, than Fitou is a charming little nook where you can enjoy a quiet evening over a warm meal and a cold beer, with your friends and/or loved ones.. !

lol… well, as u said, it’s an upmarket residential area and of course, the food will be on the high side. Jenn and I had come here several times (her aunt stays in Manjalara) to do some quick grocery shopping and also tea break at Kluang Station… but never for meal here. Perhaps it’s time??? I really love this planned township though… wide roads, man made lake, beautiful houses… etc…
doesnt seem to make sense la the prices..how can pasta b rm38 and a plate full of meat be rm41?? got some serious issues with the pricing there..
Looks like a great find. I can imagine drinking beer here. I have yet to step foot into Desa Parkcity, though, coz I’m on the wrong (or right) side of town. haha.
eerr..mayb @night its more “happening”? any idea?
Is that breakfast buffet I see for RM25??! I am so there!! I may need to spend more time at Desa Park City to get its charm… it feels almost too manicured now. Do you know the suburb in the Stepford Wives? Or the cookie-cutter suburb from the opening bit of Weeds? Yeah, this place kinda reminds me of those.
Beautiful place. There is potential but the owners need to defend for another 1-2 years for the township to bulk up. I have eaten almost all the food here except this and 1 or 2 others. Food looks good to me. In the evening some stroll or bicycle there.
Who knew Desa Park City was the new O.C?! Lovely resort like feel to the restaurant. Great place for a run eh? 🙂
5 minutes drive from my place haven’t try Fitou before though.
A nice place to hang out! The name is interesting… Desa Park City? It’s a village but a park in the city? Hehehe….
Let me know when u guys wanna share some Paella!! YUM, my fave!
ps – Passed by D.P.City / Waterfront when I was scouting Taman Maluri for … Pan Mee!!!!
