Bangsar Village 2 has gained a new Japanese restaurant, but it is also down by one sushi conveyor belt.
Senjyu which has been repositioned from its old name, ‘senjyu sushi’, aims to attract enthusiasts of Japanese food who have grown up eating at kaiten sushi restaurants but are now ready for more refined Japanese dining. Gone is the conveyor belt. The vibe at this latest joint in Bangsar Village 2 is classy yet relaxed, juxtaposing the traditional with the funky. Beneath a high ceiling of hanging paper cranes is the main counter where one can vie for counter space with fashionably dressed customers and executives to watch the chefs shuck oysters from their shells. Very cool indeed.
