Nobu KL celebrates Malaysia’s 62nd Independence Day with The Glorious Malaya Omakase

Nobu KL celebrates Malaysia’s 62nd Independence Day with a delectable spread.

Here’s what diners have in store for them. Infused with Japanese-Peruvian flavours, Nobu Kuala Lumpur will also pay homage to its locality by introducing the Glorious Malaya Omakase, a distinctive 7-course menu specially crafted for Merdeka by Executive Chef Philip Leong and team.

The dishes will highlight local ingredients, such as palm sugar, tamarind, coconut and monk fruit. Guests will be treated decadent dishes, such as the decadent Seared Toro with Caviar, the signature Nobu Style Sushi, the delightful Arctic Char Wasabi Palm Sugar, and the tender Wagyu with Nori Crema. The remarkable meal ends with an exquisite Monk Fruit Mousse with coconut ice cream, vanilla sponge and monk fruit jelly.

The Glorious Malaya Omakase menu is priced at RM500++ per person and comprises of the following …

Seared Toro with Caviar in Tamarind Sauce  – subtle yet sublime!

Nobu Style Sushi – always a pleasure.. sweet, succulent freshness in it’s most unadulterated from

Scallop Salad with Peanut Den Miso Dressing – plump, smooth and bursting with juices tempered with a crispy salad

Arctic Char Wasabi Palm Sugar – a real delight and surprise – crispy, caramelised outer skin meets flaky, white fish meat cooked just right

Wagyu with Nori Crema – so much marbling you can’t tell where the fat ends & where the red meat begins 😛

Somen with Watercress Soup – soggy and bland tasting. Not to my liking at all.

Monk Fruit Mousse- Coconut Ice Cream, Vanilla Sponge, Monk Fruit Jelly : so soft and fluffy you almost expect a cloying sweetness… however, it was just right – not too sweet at all and perfectly made in its soft chocolate shell… a MUST HAVE!

And synonymous with the Mid- Autumn Festival check out these uniquely flavoured Nobu Style Mooncakes. Amongst this year’s distinct fillings include Miso (fermented soybean paste) yolk, Wasabi yolk, Green Tea and Black Sesame, all set within a traditional, Shanghai or snow skin mooncake.

The Lunar Fortune mooncakes are presented within a luxurious, reusable lacquered box, adorned with a variety of distinctive wooden finishes inspired by the décor of Nobu Kuala Lumpur. Guests can enjoy the Lunar Fortune mooncakes in two different packages and also enjoy a special discount of 10% for purchases of 5 – 9 boxes or 15% for purchases of 10 boxes and above.
