Brasserie Fritz @ Bukit Bintang

Finally, lunch at Brasserie Fritz and all three of us are starving.

We usually pass this brasserie on the way to Mr Chew’s and we keep saying we’ll return to check out the lunch menu, but we never get around to doing it. Today is the day, we visit Fritz.

If the place sounds familiar, it’s because it’s from the same folks behind Fuego, Strato, Cantaloupe, and Mr. Chew’s Chino Latino Bar. We didn’t realise it till we starting ordering, but this cosy restaurant, serves a wide range of dishes – from seafood dishes, to sharing plates, the menu looks awesome.

Starting at 8am, Brasserie Fritz serves an Australian-style breakfast menu which goes perfectly with a “Boozy Breakfast” Bloody Mary or a cup of coffee made with Melbourne’s famous Vittoria beans apparently  – we definitely have to come back at an earlier hour for the Bloody Mary’s!

1. HOKK AIDO SCALLOP & PARSLEY – Pan seared hokkaido scallop, parsley purée, salted caramel hazelnut 2. SALMON TATAKI – Torched salmon, sesame, tartar sauce, cucumber & seaweed 3. FISH & CHIPS – Cod fish, thosai batter, tandoori spice, cucumber raita, calamansi

TAPAS for the light eater – patatas bravas and sautéed mushrooms

1. Duck Confit Duck leg, mashed potato cake, mustard sauce 2. Steak Fritz Grilled rib eye, almond butter, pommes Fritz, baby beans 3. Mussels à la Fritz Fresh black mussels, choucroute, Desirée potatoes, mustard & tarragon broth, sourdough croutons

1. Rum Baba (served with alcohol) Light & airy brioche, soaked in syrup and served with stewed pineapple, pineapple compote and crème chibouste. Help yourself to more rum, if you need it ! 2. Crème Brûlée, Glacée, Flambée (served with alcohol) A crème brûlée set on vanilla ice cream, set on a vanilla sponge, then flambéed with cognac

3. Chocolate Ganache Meringue 75% Guanaja chocolate ganache, crunchy meringue, fresh chantilly cream, candied nuts, Jivara chocolate aerobar

They serve some delicious wines by the glass here so be sure to ask for some advice on food-wine pairing. The service and food will not disappoint!
