That Love Story… Valentine’s @ Nobu KL

Valentine’s day is probably one of the more controversial dates in a year, than people care to admit.

Do I buy her roses, or do I not? Should I take her out? Should I cook a meal… ?

Comments like “I do not celebrate Valentine’s” or , “God, I wish I knew where to take her for Valentine’s” are whispered on the subways, in the office, even overheard at lunch, as THE date approaches.

Do too much and you’re a victim of advertising. Do nothing, and be accused of being an indifferent cheap skate.

Really, you can’t win these days.

Anyway, here’s one to help put your mind at ease, by a bit at least. And this post if for those of you, who do celebrate Valentine’s Day and for the ONE who makes your Dopamine levels go all silly…

Having covered Nobu KL for several years now,  I can safely say that I find Valentine’s dinner here, a nice balance of fun with the celebratory, with a price tag that won’t burn a hole in your wallet. If you’re already prepared to spend, that is. It’s one of the best value for monies location in town. Trust me.. I mean, some places in the close vicinity are just exorbitant. No names mentioned.

And talking about cloud 9… this might just be Cloud 56, as you are after all, dining on the 56th floor with the commanding Petronas Twin towers iconic structure for company.

From February 14th to the 18th, Executive Chef Philip Leong and his team have conjured up culinary romance with Nobu’s newest Valentine’s Day Omakase. Patrons will also have the option of selecting a more premium menu which incorporates the use of truffles, if they so choose.

The Valentine’s Omakase menu features Nobu’s quintessential Japanese-Peruvian style of cuisine taking couples on a 7-course journey. The premium version of the menu marries Nobu’s distinct flavour with the use of truffles in a variety of ways from freshly shaven to infused sauces.

For that perfect touch to a memorable season of love, the premium menu is paired with a glass of sparkling wine or guests can opt for a special Valentine’s Day cocktail, “Bitter My Lip” – a tangy concoction which features Dark Rum infused with coffee beans, orange peels, lemongrass and Maraschino cherries.
