Always open and often packed, it’s easy to see why Rendez-vous fulfills numerous diners needs – from children friendly brunches to lazy dinners for leisurely dinners, it’s definitely the most laid-back, casual French restaurant we know in KL.
And of course, all this works to their advantage. It’s hard not to feel relaxed in Rendez-vous setting, and so even the dining experience is all the more comfortable. At this traditional French restaurant, all the staples are accounted for from Rillettes and Escargot to Boeuf Bourguignon and Crepe Suzette, it’s all served here in generous portions and at affordable prices too.
Amuse bouche of Bacon roll with prune, French mojito & Sparkling Polignac
The Sparkling Polignac is 100% deliciousness in a flute and ladies, you must order this – cognac with sparkling wine and a cube of sugar that bubbles away with glee.. think kir royal. The Mojitos here are less sweet yet sufficiently refreshing – also great choices for any balmy evening out.
When you see the size of this cold platter, you’ll probably want to skip the mains even – priced at RM120, it will fill you right up, and it’s probably all you and your date will have to order all night.
The platter has an assortment of cold cuts including gizzards, snails (escargot), various pates traditional pork pate, deer & hazelnut, wild boar terrine, pork rillettes , pork sausages, smoked duck, ham rolls, garden salad, potato salad, aubergines and pickles.
cholesterol-rific gizzards.. but oh so tasty!
It’s actually really value for money for an easy dinner for two, this and a bottle of wine is all you will need to make the night a memorable one.
Boeuf Bourguignon
This hearty Burgundy meat dish is one of the classics at Rendez-vous. It’s prepared with cuts of beef, onions, carrots, marinated in tons of Burgundy wine, which confers a rather sweet taste, served with mashed potatoes. The meat was fork tender.
Quail with white wine sauce and raisins (RM42)
This amazingly tiny but succulent bird, complemented with salubrious accompaniments such as lightly sautéed raisins for a bit of sweetness and spinach & roasted potatoes for additional balance, was just orgasmic. The bird was perfectly tender, and the light sauce with raisins was a far more interesting reduction than your typical gravy. Hands down the best thing to order at this French restaurant.
Crepes Suzette .. dramatic and utterly delicious. Who can resist flambéed pancakes doused in Cointreau, served with a dollop of rich vanilla ice-cream. Not me.
This chocolate dessert tasted like After-8’s! Chocolate with mint.. a real palate refresher!
This Sunday just past, Rendez-Vous introduced ‘La Chandeleur’ or also known as ‘Pancake day’. It carries on till the 2nd of February so you can still catch it. The idea is to enjoy Chef Flo’s pancakes, play some Pétanque & kick back with the family while you’re at it. Also Rendez-Vous’ Valentine’s day menu is out now on their FB page – be sure to book early to avoid disappointment.

Rendezvous in Singapore was a nasi padang eatery, now a classy hotel, Bras Basah Road.
LOL really? Worlds apart but same name huh? 😀
There’s also a Rendezvous in Kampong Pandan that serves localised western food…lol! I’ll take this one anytime though I’ve not tried much French food but this one looks reasonably priced.
hahaha.. yet another one. I once knew a club called Rendezvous too… if that’s any help. LOL
RM 120 berarti kurang lebih Rp. 400.000 lumayan tak terlalu mahal
Yes, value for money!
