For two weeks, the Greek Week Festival will be running at Eccucino, Prince Hotel so find a way, to visit them, asap. The festival is headed by Greek guest chefs, Chef George Diakomichalis and Chef Kalliopi Diakomichalis with the assistance from Eccucino’s Chef De Cuisine Jason Manson.

Talking to Chef George, he told us, “We want to bring our Greek culture and lifestyle to the table and get everyone together during the ‘Chef’s Table’ session, the way we do it back at home!”
Grilled Beef, Lamb and Chicken Souvlaki
During the Greek Week Festival, Chef George will be preparing his signature authentic Greek cuisine ranging from a full buffet of savoury to sweet delicacies. All the dishes are made with his family recipes which have been handed down for generations. Guests can look forward to enjoy the mouth-watering Yiros (Spit-roasted Lamb in Pita Breads), Moussaka (Baked Eggplant and Meat Casserole) and my all time favourite Souvlaki (Grilled Skewers). As Chef George’s is well-known for his desserts-making skills, the dessert corner is a must try during this promotion. Patrons will be able to savour some of his signature desserts such as Baklava (Sweet Almond and Honey Pastries), Cream Kataifi (Custard Cake with Shredded Filo Pastry) and Loukomades (Honey-drizzled Fried Pastries).
Chicken Yiros
don’t stinge on the chicken!
Tender marinated chicken and a creamy cucumber yogurt sauce tucked into a pita, topped with lettuce and tomato if you like.. delicious!
Live station – Souvlaki
Gemista
Gemista (Stuffed Tomato and Green Bell Peppers) is a delicious Greek classic made with tomatoes and green bell peppers stuffed with rice and fresh herbs baked with potatoes.
Moussaka
Here’s my favourite casserole, made by layering eggplant with a spiced meat filling then topping it off with a creamy bechamel sauce that is baked to golden perfection!
Spanakopita – rich pie stuffed with spinach, onions, cheeses and herbs that are all enfolded by crispy, flaky phyllo dough
crunchy, creamy and super decadent! The spinach and cheese center just melts in your mouth!
Tiropitakia.. greek pie stuffed with cheese & vine leaves
One of the nicest things to nibble on!
Clockwise Top Left : Galaktobouriko – Custard in filo pastry; Koq – Custard filled shells with Chocolate Ganache; Finikia – Walnut Shortbread with Citrus Honey; Baklava
Rizogalo – Cream Rice pudding
With Fariz… Chef George Diakomichalis teaches us how to down the Ouzo … potent stuff!
Ouzo drinking is an art. Or maybe it’s a way of life. Whatever it is, the island of Lesvos is known for it’s ouzo. Most Greeks will tell you that the best ouzo comes from Lesvos. But Chef tells us, it’s not the ouzo, it’s who you drink it with that really makes the experience! And you know what… We totally agree! 🙂
A fantastic night with great Greek food and company, can’t ask for more!
