5 Great reasons to Stay @ Traders Hotel KL

Traders KL is one of those hotels that I have no qualms recommending to my friends who are transiting KL and looking for a strategic location to put up for a couple of days or the weekend. It is also a hotel I have no qualms recommending to my friends who live abroad, visiting on holiday with their families either. I think this is so, because Traders is such a versatile hotel. And the location is undisputedly one of the best in town. Here are 5 great reasons to stay at the Traders Hotel KL :

1. Location

You see, Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, is perfectly situated within the Kuala Lumpur City Centre. It offers direct access to the world-class Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Suria KLCC and the famous Petronas Twin Towers, all of which are surrounded by restaurants, bars, clubs, and cafes. For the health conscious, you just need to look out of your window to see the fitness freaks jogging around KLCC park. This whole area is what I would call, the perfect business, convention, shopping and entertainment hub of Kuala Lumpur. Traders itself caters to smart business and leisure travellers visiting Kuala Lumpur with all the convenience of facilities such as broadband, wifi, 24–hour in-room dining, Airport transfer, Business Centre and conference rooms.

2. Traders Club/ Club Lounge

 I particularly love the Express Check-in and Check-out services at the Club Lounge/Traders Club (on the 32nd floor) that makes everything so fast and efficient. For today’s frequent travellers, it is a real luxury to get to your room as fast as possible after traveling for many hours. The Traders Club is where you get to experience a higher standard of accommodation, personalized service and a host of special privileges and amenities. On the Club floor you get upon arrival, a Guest Relations Officer who will personally handle your check-in smoothly and quickly at the Club Lounge. For comfort and convenience, all Traders Club guestrooms are equipped with Free Wi-Fi and cable Internet access. Extra power points, desk complete with stationery etc. This time round, we stayed at the executive suite which was massive. You also got unobstructed views of the Petronas Twin Towers and KLCC Park, spacious bathroom with separate shower cubicles as well as 409 sqf of comfort at your disposal. We checked into our room, and got ourselves sorted , then it was time to head on down to the Club Lounge for their cocktail hour. Access to lounge facilities and the Club Lounge during cocktail hours from 5pm to 7pm is complimentary. Dress code during cocktail hours is casual smart with no flip flops allowed. Alongside this, you can also have your daily breakfast at the Traders Club Lounge. It makes a change having a nice view for breakfast rather than being cooped up in a restaurant with no view. Also, for all your ground travel arrangements to shopping and entertainment arrangements, the Club Concierge can help. For those who are constantly hungry or in need of hot drinks, there are complimentary beverages all day at the Club Lounge. Wow.. ain’t that the life?

3. Great Dining

If anyone asks, I don’t hesitate to say that Traders has one of the best steak restaurants in town. At Gobo Upstairs Lounge & Grill, ala carte dinners are what you should go for, and definitely order steaks. Gobo Upstairs is cosy yet stylish and now they have even revived their “Unlimited Upstairs” lunch buffet.

For Western and Asian fare, you can dine under an animated light show at the Gobo Chit Chat restaurant. Gobo Chit Chat has a new ala carte menu as well, and the buffet is also a good choice for those dining with family.

At the open-air rooftop SkyBar, a cosmopolitan evening of drinks and city views without the claustrophobia of impenetrable club walls is what’s so appealing. I like the fact that it’s so breezy you don’t leave with the smell of smoke in your hair and clothes. The illuminated twin wonders of the Petronas Towers are truly a sight to behold especially at that twilight hour between waning light and dusk.

4. For Health & Leisure

The Spa at Traders hotel is just named, The Spa. Not fanfare, but located on the 34th floor above the sky bar, and possibly the highest you can go in this hotel, this is a sanctuary to rest and recuperate from life. The complete spa experience encompasses relaxation, wellness, beauty and indulgence to promote both inner and outer wellbeing. The concept of spa-within-a-spa with spa cabanas features personal changing facilities and showers. A saunarium and steam bath are also located within theSPA. Traders also has a equipped 24-hour gym, rooftop pool complete with saunarium and steam bath, but I much prefer to run in the park below. Why run in a gym when you can easily run in park right? A full 1.3 km jogging trail around KLCC Park at the hotel’s doorstep offers an ideal venue for an early morning jog. There are nice grassy spots on the lawn to practice yoga and the place is 100% safe during daylight hours even if you are a single girl, going for a run.

5. Meetings and Events

Finally, Traders is just a stroll away to the world-class Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), which offers the city’s most technologically advanced facilities. This hotel is the ideal choice for conference delegates – who wouldn’t prefer to just walking to their meeting venue rather than wading through KL traffic in a taxi? Meeting rooms are available at the Business Centre and Traders Lounge, offering functional and private meeting facilities for small boardroom conferences. All meeting rooms feature state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment as well as great service. The hotel offers private meeting rooms and offices. Serviced Offices within the hotel are also available for rental on an hourly, weekly or monthly basis.
