More Food Porn – the Sunday Roast

I remember ‘Sunday Roasts’ from my Uni days in Cardiff.

They were a must.

A ritual we looked forward to, with great anticipation.

The Sunday roast, usually in the early afternoon for lunch, consisting of roasted meat, roast potato or mashed potato, with accompaniments such as Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, vegetables and gravy.. in this case carved roast pork with crackling served with apple sauce!

Talking with some friends, it really is a shame then that the nature of Sundays has changed. Where once they were about taking it easy with friends and family, we now have a host of alternative activities, particularly going out, movies, shopping and doing “other things”. The other shift is that, for many, Sundays now involve a day at work, rather than an afternoon around the dinner table.

Well here’s to the Sunday Roast.. and here’s to Food Porn!

Whole beef eye fillet for the entire family, with an olive oil-mustard-garlic-lime-rosemary crust, pan-seared, then slow roasted in the oven and served with a red wine beef jus, with yorkshire pudding, roasted potatoes, mushrooms, leeks and asparagus and broccoli. Yumz!

Let us never forget to dine well with our loved ones!
