Just last week we were invited down to Al Amar Express, right in the heart of Bukit Bintang, to partake in their latest, boozy, happy hour promotion ..
The Al Amar Express “Let’s Meet up after work”, is for all those who love a good tipple, and it occurs between 4pm to 8pm daily. You can buy 2 cocktails and get 1 free (same goes for beer) during this happy hour period. Not only that, but starting this month, Al Amar Express is open for late night dining as well, on Fridays and Saturdays – the kitchen will be open till 5AM. So all you party people out there, rejoice! There’s now a rather cool alternative place for supper. To read our past post on Al-Amar, and a rather thoroughly described meal on most of their signature dishes, go here😉
Strawberry Margarita (RM24)
Hungry fingers reaching for the Spinach Fatayer !
Top left – the super tasty haloumi salad. Pan fried haloumi cheese that’s salty and rich and goes terrific with the generous helpings of watercress and rocket salad.
Bottom left – A generous amount of fresh Pita bread that can and should only be eaten with your hands! Use it to mop up the exquisite Lebanese chickpea and aubergine dips such as, the Moutabal and Hummus. I also totally dig the Spinach Fatayer, Lamb Sambousik and Tabbouleh they serve here at Al Amar Express. I am not sure what they put in their food.. but it’s strangely addictive.
Finally praise be given to the Warak Enab, which is some form of rice stuffed into grape leaves. Ah, this is a must order. By the way, go slow on the starters as they actually do a good job of filling you up quickly if you do not pace yourselves.
Grilled Chicken Salad (RM20)
Healthy yet tasty. This is my ideal dinner, i.e. just a simple chicken salad, especially after the gym. Wash it down with a beer and heave a sigh of satisfaction. Very nice!
Cosmopolitan (RM28), corona beer, Frozen Margarita (RM24)
Whole Roasted Chicken (RM38)
Marcky, Ralph and Fatboybakes
Mei Yee, Yen, and Ciki
Haze and KY
Suanie and Haze
Spicy Chicken with Cheese Manakeesh (RM17.90)
Lionel, Jchocoholic, Ciki and Marcky
Guess who ate the last slice.. 😉
We have always been great fans of Al Amar’s cuisine, and now we have one more good reason to hangout after work for some de-stressing and cocktails! Not only that, KL is a little less lonely, with this Lebanese joint open till 5AM on Friday and Saturday..
And all the party people say.. Hip hip! Chin Chin!

gorgeous, simply gorrrgeous.
thanks ahpa!!
Everything looks delicious but the hummous looks all kinds of scrumptious 🙂
LOL, healthy too! What more can you ask for? Incidentally I hv a can of hummus dip in the fridge – gonna have it with my flaxseed tortilla’s soon, for tea;)
Oh yumms. Love the food at Al Amar especially the hummus. Can go on a carbo overload with the Lebanese breads when served with the hummus.
true that!
I really wanted to go for this one but I was down with the flu after Phuket so I couldn’t make it. 😡
The promo is awesome – if I’m working in KL and live in PJ, I’ll stay for a cocktail instead of trying to beat the jam. 🙂
great idea.. give me a call.. will have cocktails with you!
