The Bee, @ Publika

One of our favourite hangout places for a nice cuppa, is at The Bee, at Publika. The Bee is a cool, laidback food and drink joint that serves American diner style grub and they do some rather nice coffee and ice-cream desserts here, as well.

We love it because the place is spacious and the sofas are super comfy… makes you want to hangout and linger over your coffee especially on a lazy weekend. If you like, the Bee also serves lunch – interesting offerings such as truffle scrambled eggs, beef bacon pot hash and hearty burgers are on the menu. Their selection of local flavoured ice-creams from “the last polka” are also great for a hot afternoon. One of my favourite ice-cream flavours is the teh tarik – super yummie and addictive. And if you’re already a fan of The Last Polka, you’re going to love their latest introduction. Premium artisanal creamy goodness in the form of spiked milkshakes! One of my mates hates even a trace of foam in her coffee, especially when she deliberately orders a flat white. That’s her, being goofy and passing the foam over, to another unsuspecting cup.. wait till my other friend gets back.. LOL!

This is what my girlfriend says.. “There’s nothing particularly revolutionary about the flat white. It’s simply a single or double shot topped with milk that’s been steamed into a velvety wet foam, smaller and less milky than a latte, served in a cappuccino cup but without the froth. So, why is it so hard to get it right.. ”
