La Vie En Rose

Des yeux qui font baisser les miens
Un rir’ qui se perd sur sa bouch’
Voila le portrait
sans retouch’
De I’homme auquel j’appartiens

Quand il me prend dans ses bras
ll me parle tout bas
Je vois la vie en rose
ll me dit des mots d’amour
Des mots de tous les jours
Et ca m’a fait quelque chose
ll est entre dans mon coeur
Une part de bonheur
Dont je connais la cause
C’est lui par moi
Moi par lui
dans la vie
ll me I’a dit
I’a jure pour la vie
Et des que je I’apercois
Alors je sens en moi
Mon coeur qui bat

Et des que je I’apercois
Alors je sens en moi
Mon coeur qui bat
La vie en roge
la vie en rose…

“La Vie en Rose” (French for “Life through rose-coloured glasses,” literally “Life in pink”) was the signature song of French singer Édith Piaf. The version I like is the Grace Jones version which is a radical bossanova/disco version of the original. This song is dedicated to my friend Kat who just got back into town from Abu Dhabi.. hanging out with her and the girls and talking about all the stuff that chicks talk about (love, life, loss) is awesome fun – is like, is like.. “La Vie en Rose” …

Footnote:
thank you brother B, who introduced me to this awesome track;)
