Living Food Restaurant @ Damansara Utama

We recently had the misfortune of eating at this place called Living Food Resaurant, apparently famous for its Lam Mee.
Actually, we were on the way to eat our favourite Kajang Satay Haji Samuri, in Damansara Utama, just a few doors away from Living Food, but the Kajang Satay shop was closed.
So, what to do.. we ended up at Living Food.

The food was served. The Lam Mee lacked any taste – just starchy. My mum’s Lam Mee taste better anytime ( and even with a hardcore flu, you can taste more than what was served here.) The prawns were puny. With so little ‘LIAO’ and so much starch – RM5, not cheap.

The Foo Chuk had the texture of something re-heated in the microwaved in the oven – rubberised and tough as sin, even in soup!

The Sui Kow was just as bad. Rubbery with THICK, hard batter – not the excellent crumbly, flaky sort that we are use to. No vegetables or any ‘live’ stuffings inside – it just looked like processed paste from a tin.

Finally, when we tried to take photos, the cook was sooooooo snooty he told us “Don’t take any photos. Our food is TRADEMARKED, and we don’t need any written help”.
(Bland tasting trademarked Lam Mee…, that’s what… haha)

Pfttt.. well, what can we say. Rudeness at its height.

Fellow blogger, do not blog this place because the food is ‘trademarked’ and they don’t need any help.

Pass the word.

Oh no!!! Another disastrous “anti-blogger” establishment …

WHAT!? “Trademarked” food … big deal!! I couldn’t believe it when I read “Our food is TRADEMARKED, and we don’t need any written help”.

Haha … EXACTLY! Must be a special type of lam mee no one can copy, of the bland variety!!

    Hey, get well soon …

ps – When I was there in March, I have to admit it wasn’t so bad … http://juliansi.blogspot.com/2008/03/living-food.html BUT, I didn’t try the lam mee then!

pps – I have now linked that blog review above to your entry … STAY AWAY!

wow!!! i didnt know that cameras are capable in analysing the materials/recipe in the food in a post x-ray test so that food bloggers are able to copy and open another shop just like theirs and take away all their business/trademarks…

Ha! One of the things I dislike most.. cannot take photos. I can’t understand this.. we are helping them to promote their business leh.. aiyo. BTW I never came across this restaurant in Kajang… is it near the Satay restaurant? Emm nvm about that.. since the food sucks.. I don’t want to know, lol.

  • CUMI & CIKI says:

    jason:
    good one, sensitive food ..lol

    vkeong:
yup, the satay is satay kajang, the lam mee is from pudu

  • Precious Pea says:

Maybe starchy lam mee and the rubbery foo chook are the trademarks. Noted and will pass the message around. They should learn not to mess around with floggers. Haha.

  • Anonymous says:

The proprietors and the indonesian helpers of this place are just plain stucked up. Don’t even maintain eye contact when you place and order of pay the bill. They are not worth trying anymore. The standard of their food is longkang low nowadays.
