And as we gallop into the Wood Horse year, I am told that one should expect the unexpected adventure & exciting travels to distant lands.. Events move so quickly in a Horse year that you don’t want to gallop off in the wrong direction!

At Tai Zi Heen, Chinese New Year sees the arrival of auspicious festive delights. Meticulously crafted by Chinese Head Chef Michael Wong, Tai Zi Heen, jumps on the bandwagon and offers a wide range of Chinese New Year set menus and festive a la carte selections for the new year.

To start of the celebration, Chef Michael Wong has created three special set menus – guest can choose from 3 different set menus namely Spring and Happiness, Everlasting Prosperity and the Wealth and Fortune.

The set menus are priced from RM1288++ to RM1988++ per table of 10 persons, available from 9 January till 14 February 2014.

And to add luck and good fortune to all aspects of your life, tossing the Yee Sang is a must! Toss to a year of new beginnings, luck and prosperity with the Four Seasons Prosperity Yee Sang (which consist of four different types of fish – Butterfish, Salmon, Tuna and Jellyfish), Abalone Yee Sang, Salmon Yee Sang Hamachi Yee Sang and Canadian Surf Clam Yee Sang, and there is even a Vegetarian Snow Pear Yee Sang – how’s that for choice?

Double Boiled Fish Maw with Chicken and Dried Scallops in Superior Broth

Highlights from the Chinese New Year menu also include Roasted Chicken Sprinkled with Crispy Garlic served with Five Spice Salt, Pan-Fried Jumbo Tiger Prawn with Chef’s Signature Sauce, Hong Kong-Style Steamed Grouper with Spring Onions, Coriander topped Superior Sauce and Double Boiled Chicken with Whole Abalone, Dried Scallop, Bamboo Pith and Vegetables.

In addition to the set menus, a special Chinese New Year ala carte menu is introduced for this celebration. Items include Double Boiled Fish Maw with Chicken and Dried Scallops in Superior Broth, Crispy Prawns Coated with Lemon Dressing Garnished with Tropical Fruit Salsa and Tobiko; Twice Cooked Tea Smoked Duck with Spicy Mango Chutney and Braised Japanese Sun Dried Scallops, Dried Oysters and Fatt Choy.
