Picture Perfect Scotland- Jura Music Festival

As the rain clouds cleared, this gorgeous whisper of a rainbow appeared – a promise of wonderful things to come.

The Isle of Jura Musical Festival is now a well established favourite for lovers of the traditional music scene in Scotland.

To get to this concert, we had to take a 5 minute ferry from the Isle of Islay to Jura. Locals and visitors from the nearby island of Islay set the scene for a weekend filled with toe-tapping, foot-stomping, elbow-fiddling musical pleasure when they step up to the stage and show off their talents. The festival has a history of promoting both up and coming and established artists. It was here that I met Dougie MacLean for the first time. The rainbow was probably a sign to preempt me, that I would soon fall in love with Caledonia. It was only a matter of time.
