Powered Paragliding

Almost like Icarus.

Powered Paragliding is exhilarating.

If you remember the character from ancient Mythology , Icarus, was the son of Daedalus who attempted to escape Crete by flight which ended in a fall to his death. He made a pair of wings but the wax melted as he got too close to the sun, and he plunged to his death. Well, if your dream as to be airborne, this is as close to flying as you will get..

Powered paragliders usually fly between 15 and 45 mph (25 and 70 km/h) at altitudes from ‘foot-dragging in the grass’ up to 18,000 ft (5400 m) although most flying is done under 500 ft (150 m) AGL (above ground level). Lessons are offered where by the end of the course, you can learn to power paraglide all on your own, check out WHOA-Adventures for more details.
Practice begins on the ground. Learn to catch the wind and make a wall. It’s all just physics. Wind to the left, drop sail to the left. You need to get under the wind in order for your sail to stay up.
